Our country is in deep trouble and our politicians are making things worse. It's time for bold new leadership to fix America.
My National Security Advisor -- Ret. Admiral William Owens
Ret. Admiral Williams Owens is my top national security advisor. Admiral Owens is a man of extraordinary depth, character, judgment, and intelligence who has made an enormous contribution to our country, serving as commander of nuclear submarines during the Vietnam War and thereafter, as Commander of the Sixth Fleet during Dessert Storm, and as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
Bill and I have spent considerable time discussing domestic and foreign policy and hold very similar views. That said, Bill brings a world of specialized knowledge and expertise on foreign policy and defense policy to our team.
Bill asked me to post this statement:
"Our country has always faced difficult challenges at home and abroad. Today is no different. Our economy is struggling, our fiscal, saving, and healthcare institutions are teetering, our education system is failing, our children are disadvantaged, our friends are questioning, and our enemies are threatening. Worst of all, our politicians are pulling us apart, not together. In rough times, America has always reached inside our extraordinary population to find new leadership. Our presidents have come from a host of professions, including farming, tailoring, acting, teaching, engineering, management, and retailing. Today, one of our nation's leading economists, Laurence Kotlikoff, is stepping forward to help chart our future. Larry is running for President as an Independent on the Americans Elect platform. I'm deeply impressed by Larry's character, judgement, and capacity to lead our nation in the years ahead. His platform, at www.kotlikoff2012.org, provides new ways, which are simple, progressive, and effective, to address our manifold concerns. Please review www.kotlikoff2012.org. I encourage you to join his campaign by registering at www.americanselect.org and clicking support for Larry, by contributing what you can afford, and by volunteering to help him fix America.”
